Dell'eterno ritorno o amnesia cosmica

 

Quando un pianeta entra in un segno, attiva sempre la dinamica sul relativo asse, così mi è venuta la curiosità di andare a vedere cosa è accaduto 87 anni fa, quando Plutone entrò in Leone in opposizione ai primissimi gradi dell’Aquario, dove sta transitando adesso.

Plutone fa il suo ingresso definitivo in Leone il 14 giugno 1939, ma prima di questa data transita in questo segno per due brevi periodi:

-          dal 7 ottobre al 25 novembre 1937; e

-          dal 3 agosto 1938 al 7 febbraio 1939.

Nel 1937 Hitler ha già preso il potere in Germania. Il 5 novembre 1937 (ossia durante il primissimo breve transito di Plutone in Leone) si tiene a Berlino una riunione segreta tra Hitler e i vertici militari e diplomatici tedeschi (il cui contenuto è riportato nel Memorandum di Hossbach), durante la quale il dittatore delinea le future linee espansionistiche della Germania nazista. Secondo Hitler, l'economia della Germania nazista aveva raggiunto un tale stato di crisi che l'unico modo per arrestare un drastico calo del tenore di vita dei tedeschi consisteva nell’intraprendere al più presto un’aggressiva politica di annessione per fornire Lebensraum (spazio vitale) alla Germania, impadronendosi di Austria e Cecoslovacchia, e quindi delle loro ricche infrastrutture industriali.

Tra il 12 e il 13 marzo 1938, con Plutone rientrato sugli ultimissimi gradi del Cancro a causa della retrogradazione, Hitler annette l’Austria al Reich (Anschluss).

Durante il secondo temporaneo transito di Plutone in Leone, Hitler continuò ad alzare il livello della tensione fino al punto di minacciare apertamente l’invasione della Cecoslovacchia con la scusa di “liberarne” gli abitanti di lingua tedesca, i Sudeti tedeschi, che abitavano le zone di confine. In questi mesi la crisi europea innescata dalle richieste di annessione di Hitler delle terre di confine cecoslovacche abitate dai Sudeti tedeschi si fa molto grave. L’esercito russo si ammassa lungo il confine ucraino e la Romania consente il libero attraversamento del loro territorio ai soldati russi in difesa della Cecoslovacchia. La Francia e la Gran Bretagna cercano una mediazione, ma non sono disposte ad entrare in guerra con la Germania in difesa delle terre dei Sudeti. Mussolini fa un discorso a Trieste in cui dichiara che l’Italia offre il suo sostegno alla Germania in relazioni alla crisi dei Sudeti. Nel settembre del 1938 il Governo cecoslovacco, privo del sostegno di Francia e Gran Bretagna, cede alle richieste tedesche di annessione delle terre dei Sudeti. La perdita di questi territori trasformò profondamente la Cecoslovacchia, che priva delle sue frontiere naturali, senza più le fortificazioni costruite negli anni precedenti, era oramai indifesa, pronta per essere occupata.

La notte tra il 9 e il 10 novembre 1938 è la Notte dei Cristalli, che dà inizio ai pogrom antisemiti.

Il 15 marzo del 1939, con Plutone sull’ultimo grado del Cancro, l’esercito tedesco occupò la Cecoslovacchia senza quasi sparare un colpo. La notte precedente, il presidente del paese era stato preso in ostaggio da Hitler ed era stato costretto a firmare la capitolazione del paese. La mossa fu così rapida e inaspettata che gli alleati della Cecoslovacchia non fecero nemmeno in tempo a protestare prima che il fatto fosse compiuto. Fu l’ultima volta in cui Hitler riuscì a realizzare i suoi piani senza opposizione.

Sei mesi dopo, quando Hitler cercò di fare la stessa cosa con la Polonia, il risultato fu lo scoppio della Seconda guerra mondiale (1 settembre 1939 – Plutone era a 02°05 Leone e Urano a 21°57 Toro).

Credo che sia inevitabile prendere atto delle assonanze.

 

ON ETERNAL RECURRENCE OR COSMIC AMNESIA

When a planet enters a sign, it always activates the dynamics on its axis, so I was curious to go and see what happened 87 years ago when Pluto entered Leo in opposition to the very first degrees of Aquarius, where it is transiting now.

Pluto made its final entry into Leo on Jun. 14^th, 1939, but before this date it transited through this sign for two brief periods

- from Oct. 7^th to Nov. 25^th, 1937; and

- from Aug. 3^rd, 1938, to Feb. 7^th, 1939.

By 1937 Hitler had already seized power in Germany. On Nov. 5^th, 1937 (i.e. during the very first brief transit of Pluto in Leo) a secret meeting was held in Berlin between Hitler and Germany's top military and diplomatic leaders (the contents of which are recorded in the Hossbach Memorandum), during which the dictator outlined the future expansionist lines of Nazi Germany. According to Hitler, the economy of Nazi Germany had reached such a state of crisis that the only way to halt a drastic decline in the Germans' standard of living was to undertake an aggressive policy of annexation as soon as possible to provide Lebensraum (living space) for Germany by seizing Austria and Czechoslovakia, and thus their rich industrial infrastructure.

Between Mar. 12^th – 13^th, 1938, with Pluto re-entering the very last degrees of Cancer due to retrograde, Hitler annexed Austria to the Reich (Anschluss).

During the second temporary transit of Pluto in Leo, Hitler continued to raise the level of tension to the point of openly threatening the invasion of Czechoslovakia under the pretext of 'liberating' its German-speaking inhabitants, the Sudeten Germans, who inhabited the border areas. In these months, the European crisis triggered by Hitler's demands for annexation of the Czechoslovak borderlands became very serious. The Russian army massed along the Ukrainian border and Romania allowed the free crossing of its territory to Russian soldiers defending Czechoslovakia. France and Great Britain sought mediation but were unwilling to go to war against Germany in defence of the Sudeten. Mussolini made a speech in Trieste in which he declared that Italy was offering its support to Germany in relation to the Sudetenland crisis.

In September 1938, the Czechoslovak government, lacking the support of France and Great Britain, yielded to German demands for the annexation of the Sudetenland. The loss of these territories profoundly transformed Czechoslovakia, which without its natural borders and the fortifications built in previous years, was now defenceless and ready for occupation.

The night of Nov. 9^th - 10^th, 1938, was the Night of Broken Glass (Kristallnacht), which started anti-Semitic pogroms.

On Mar. 15^th, 1939, with Pluto on the last degree of Cancer, the German army occupied Czechoslovakia without hardly firing a shot. The night before, the country's president had been taken hostage by Hitler and forced to sign the country's capitulation. The move was so quick and unexpected that Czechoslovakia's allies did not even have time to protest before it was done. It was the last time Hitler succeeded in realising his plans without opposition.

Six months later, when Hitler tried to do the same to Poland, the result was the outbreak of World War II (Sep. 1^st, 1939 - Pluto was at 02°05 Leo and Uranus at 21°57 Taurus).

I think it is inevitable to take note of the analogies.
